To put it another way, it&#8217;s not phoney or flimsy praise, which pupils can spot right away. When we say &#8220;good work&#8221; but don&#8217;t mean it or say it as well frequently, praise loses its meaning and pupils&#8217; faith in us is eroded. When the complement isn&#8217;t overly dramatic, I-statements work well.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Use behaviour-specific praise that is based on evidence (BSP).
